CLIMATE
Jordan has an ideal Mediterranean climate for spending your holidays and traveling at any time of the year. Amman is a sunny and clear city from May to October, with temperatures around 23ºC. Spring has ideal weather and offers lush vegetation while autumn is mild and pleasant. The months of July and August are hot and dry, but not excessively so. Aqaba and the Jordan Valley are ideal places for winter, with temperatures between 16ºC and 22ºC between November and April. In the Aqaba area and in the desert it rains very little.

CLOTHES
Even in summer, the evenings can be cool, so it is recommended to bring some warm clothing at night.
In winter, it is recommended to bring a coat and a raincoat, as the weather can become quite cold, especially in Amman and the east.

SHOPPING
Jordan is famous as a shopping destination and features an interesting fusion of modern and traditional items. Walking through the souks and shopping centers of Jordan can be a very fun experience, it can even become a kind of social event. Especially in small shops, where it is common to be offered a cup of coffee or tea before starting to do business. The souk is one of the places where the tradition of haggling over prices still resides, so practice your negotiation skills, you might just get a bargain.Business hours are quite flexible. Some shops are open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Others may have longer hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Many shops close on Fridays, but the souk does not. Keep in mind that although Jordan has a significant craft industry, it also has specialized high-tech shops that offer the latest trends in fashion and technology.

MAIN DISH
Mansaf: Jordanian national dish and Bedouin specialty, “Mansaf” is a dish of lamb seasoned with aromatic (sometimes somewhat spicy) herbs, cooked with dry yogurt and served on a large plate with a side of rice and scattered with almonds and pinions. This extravagant dish is mainly served on special occasions as it has important symbolic meaning at social gatherings.
